Four generations of women celebrating Mother’s Day together in Wisconsin.

Happy (belated) Mother’s Day from all of us at Let’s Celebrate. We hope your day was filled with love, laughter, and the people who matter most.

I stayed off my phone for most of the day this year. It's hard for me to see all the posts about amazing Mom's. Mother’s Day is a little bittersweet for me since both my mom and grandma are gone. But honestly? I truly enjoyed the day. It was low-key, work-free, and spent simply with my family. I even got to work on projects guilt-free — which felt like a gift in itself.

My daughter is still away at college, so we’ll celebrate together when she’s home. And if I’m being honest, I’ve always found Mother’s Day interesting. I’ve informally “surveyed” women over the years, and everyone experiences it differently. Some say, “Eh, it’s just another day.” Others soak in every homemade card, burnt toast breakfast, and runny eggs lovingly made for them.

For me, Mother’s Day was never really about myself. I loved spoiling my mom and grandma. I loved helping the kids make gifts, planning little surprises, and finding ways to make them feel special. Now, it feels a little uncomfortable being on the receiving end of that instead of the planning side. I still have many amazing women in my life that I love celebrating and surprising, but there’s something uniquely special about celebrating your own mom.

One thing that did make my heart incredibly happy this year was our Mother’s Day Craft Night at the studio in Mequon. It was small, cozy, and honestly one of those “best kept secrets” around the Ozaukee County area.

The girls planted succulents in vintage teacups, filled them with sand, and bedazzled the saucers with sparkling details. We added springs with photos of each of the girls, turning the projects into little keepsakes filled with personality and love.

Watching them create something meaningful for someone they love reminded me what celebrations are really about. Not perfection. Not expensive gifts. Just connection, thoughtfulness, and making memories together.

And honestly… those are the moments that stay with us forever.
